While we have all heard that Vitamin C is important, do any of us know why it really even matters? Well here it goes… Vitamin C is a natural antihistamine, “anti” meaning counteracts and “histamine” being the chemical that is released as a physiological response to inflammation, allergies and cold symptoms. In other words, it can help the body combat cold and flu symptoms. So less sniffling and sneezing during this winter season… I think we can all say an “Amen!” to that.
So what? Can’t I just drink orange juice and be okay? No.
An 8oz glass of store bought orange juice contains roughly 24g-27g of sugar. More natural sources of Vitamin C are strawberries, oranges, cantaloupe, mango, cauliflower, broccoli, spinach, pineapple, watermelon and sweet potatoes.
