Allison Short has both her CrossFit Level 1 and 2, CrossFit Kids and USAW. In addition to CrossFit, her experience and knowledge in the fitness industry spans over a decade and includes a variety of types of training including: personal and small group training, high intensity, cardio and aerobic training, strength training, and weight training to name a few. Prior to being an industry professional, she was a competitive gymnast for ten years and a collegiate soccer player. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Wisconsin, Stout with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management. This is also where she was nominated All Conference and served as a two-year captain of the soccer team. Allison brings a level of knowledge and passion to each member of CrossFit Chippewa Falls, but her relationship with people is her first priority and her sole purpose for owning a fitness facility is to help as many people as she can be successful in their life.
CrossFit Level One
Luke Short achieved much success as a high school baseball player (named Mr. Baseball 1998) and went on to play at the collegiate level for the Winona State University where he graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. For Luke, transitioning to a CrossFit Level One Coach was natural. It brings together his passion for health, wellness and sports, along with education. Together he and his wife Allison are raising two sons, Gabe and Cass and are striving to expand CrossFit Chippewa Falls for the sole purpose to improve as many lives as they can.
Lexi Bengston is a CrossFit Level 1 coach who helps us facilitate the Volt Program at Chi-Hi as well as the regularly scheduled classes at our box including our CrossFit kids classes. Lexi is also available for personal, small group and sport-specific training. She saw much success as a high school soccer player and is the former soccer coach at Chi-Hi. She received her degree in Kinesiology majoring in Movement Science with a minor in Business Administration. She’s been a CrossFit athlete since 2013 and when she’s not working or working out, she enjoys traveling, hiking and being outdoors.
Derek Nette received his Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. As a former athlete he competed at the collegiate level in both track and football. During his time at UWRF, he was a strength and conditioning coach. Derek leads the Strength and Conditioning Program at Chi-Hi. He's a wealth of knowledge when it comes to proper lifting form and technique. Derek has his CrossFit Level 1 and Level 2, CrossFit Kids and USAW certifications. Derek also has a passion for Olympic Lifting.
CrossFit Level 1
Mary Wiley is a Registered Nurse working in cardiac rehabilitation. Although she received her CrossFit Level 1 in 2018, Mary has been a member of the CrossFit Chippewa Falls community since 2014. She credits CrossFit for helping her maintain a 100 pound weight loss. When Mary is not at the gym she enjoys spending time with her husband Paul, their three children, cooking, reading, traveling and volunteering.
